News We are very sad to report on the death of Professor Clive Graham Dr Naven Chetty has been appointed as a lecturer in Physics from 1 July 2010. Find the Physics Supp July Exam Timetable here.

The School of Physics at the University of KwaZulu-Natal is one of the largest physics schools in the country. The School has sites of operation on the Durban (Westville and Howard College) and the Pietermaritzburg campuses. The Pietermaritzburg campus is the only place in South Africa that offers the BSc(Computational Physics) degree.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR FIRST YEAR STUDENTS

• All students enrolled for the PHYS110/131/195 modules are hereby informed that they qualify to write a supplementary exam if they received 30-49 % in the main exam.

• Scripts can be viewed on Monday 21 June 2010 between 09h00 and 15h00 only.

• Extra help sessions with the lecturers will be held on Thurday 08 July 2010 and Friday 09 July 2010. The sessions on both days are as follows:
  • Mechanics 09h00 to 11h00
  • Thermal Physics 11h30 to 13h30
  • Geometrical Optics 14h00 to 15h00

• For the week 12 - 16 July 2010, students may consult with tutors and/or lecturers between 09h00 and 14h00.
